On 11 – 12 June 2024, INNO-CCUS hosted its second national CCUS Summit, gathering two hundred experts and enthusiasts at the Crowne Plaza in Copenhagen.
INNO-CCUS Partnership Director Karina Marie Søgaard opened the summit, emphasising innovation in the CCUS community. “The goal of this conference is to show you how you can be innovative, groundbreaking, and creative,” she stated.
The summit featured a wide range of engaging talks, project presentations, and panel discussions focused on advancing carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS).
Throughout the two-day event, more than thirty talks were presented, including updates from twenty ongoing INNO-CCUS projects which shared their insights and progress. These presentations were part of breakout sessions, enabling participants to customise their programs and explore a variety of topics, such as balancing climate and environmental considerations, public acceptance of CCUS, and managing risks at onshore storage sites.
The main stage sessions explored policy development and progress in leading CCUS nations like the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. These discussions highlighted the latest advancements and strategic approaches in these countries, providing valuable insights into the global CCUS landscape.
The summit underscored the importance of continued innovation and collaboration in tackling climate challenges. The active and engaged audience contributed to dynamic discussions, emphasising the community’s commitment to advancing CCUS technology.
