Accelerating the green transition: MissionGreenFuels and INNO-CCUS arrange conference

On January 17th, INNO-CCUS held a conference together with MissionGreenFuels for 200 people at the Technical University of Denmark. The conference focused on the realization of Pool 2 for INNO-CCUS and MissionGreenFuels, which allocates over 160 million Danish kroner for research and innovation projects in the areas of CO2 capture and storage or utilization as well as green fuels for transport and industry.

The Pool 2 calls were launched at the beginning of January 2023, and if you are interested in applying, you can read more about the process and deadlines here: INNO-CCUS and MissionGreenFuels

At the conference, the chairmanship of each partnership had the opportunity to present the mission-driven approach, we are using to solve the climate challenges we are facing. One of our focus areas is to create a connection between the different innovative green initiatives within CO2 capture, storage and utilization, and green fuels for transport and industry. Therefore, we invited representatives from the Business Lighthouse projects in Denmark to share their input on how to accelerate the green transition.

Moreover, a panel debate was held among Anne Højer Simonsen (DI – Dansk Industri), Kristian Jensen (Green Power Denmark), Anne Grethe Holmsgaard (EUDP – Det Energiteknologiske Udviklings- og Demonstrationsprogram) and Annemarie Munk Riis (Innovationsfonden), where academic, industrial and political responsibility and contributions to the green transition were debated.

The goal of the conference was to ensure the cumulative and continuous building of knowledge in relation to the development of the technological areas in MissionGreenFuels and INNO-CCUS. The conference provided an opportunity to present ongoing projects and discuss problem-solving across disciplines and the two mission areas. This culminated in 2 workshops, a facilitated process that helped participants to meet new partners and develop concrete project ideas for the Pool 2 application.

We hope to see many strong applications for pool 2. INNO-CCUS is hosting a Q&A webinar on February 7 2023, where you can ask any questions, you may have regarding the application process. Sign up for the Q&A here
